1- WHO CAN TRANSFER TO TURKISH CITIZENSHIP BY MAKING IMMOVABLE INVESTMENTS?

Foreigners, spouses, children under the age of 18 and dependent children who have invested at least $ 250,000 in real estate at a date after September 19, 2018 will be able to benefit from the citizenship right upon request.

The purpose and the type of acquired real estate does not matter. Any immovables (all kinds of housing, land files, orchards or commercial properties located in Turkey) purchased for at least 250 thousand dollars after September 19, 2018 are accepted.

3- IS IT POSSIBLE TO OBTAIN CITIZENSHIP WITH MULTIPLE IMMOVABLE INVESTMENTS?

Possible as long as the total value of the immovable real estate investments (can be different types of properties) is above $250.000.

There are no country-based restrictions in accordance with the regulations introduced to apply for Turkish citizenship with a real estate investment.

5- HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO OBTAIN A TURKISH CITIZENSHIP?

The time period for the finalization of the citizenship application varies according to the residence permit. Usually, this period is shorter than 6 months in the cities with less densities and about 6 months in higher density cities such as Istanbul, assuming required documents are complete. Foreigners who apply to obtain a Turkish Citizenship will have a residence permit before the citizenship application. Therefore, they will make entry and exit as they wish to Turkey until the result of the citizenship process.

7- HOW MUCH DOES THE RESIDENCE PERMIT AND CITIZENSHIP APPLICATION COSTS?

People who want to obtain a Turkish citizenship are required to pay some fees to reports, taxes, health insurance, interpreter, notary procedures. In particular, the amount of tuition and health insurance will vary depending on the nationality of the foreigner and the characteristics of the person. For this reason, it is not correct to deduce a net cost of Turkish citizenship for 250,000 dollars.

8- AFTER HOW LONG THE IMMOVABLES CAN BE SOLD?

Foreigners who want to acquire Turkish Citizenship are not able to sell the immovables for 3 years from the date of acquisition in accordance with the legal regulation they have invested in order to become citizenship. Even if foreigners are entitled to Turkish Citizenship, they cannot sell the immovables they have acquired before these 3 years have passed.
